TIME IS MY FERTILITY creates a bodily utopia in which pregnancy has nothing to do with reproduction, child-rearing or gender roles, but is primarily a concept that allows one to think of a physical impossibility: where there is a body, there can be also another one. In a blasphemous liturgy written by us, a textual score, not only the western idea of an autonomous self as a self-contained entity is shattered, but also concept of everything-has-come-to-an-end. A never-ending punk concert, a lament and a declaration of war, a cycle of songs - a cycle as round as the bellies that dance, fight, scream, sing on the stage.
We see an actress, a musician and a dancer on stage, who are a carnal manifestation of Donna Haraway's cyborg - neither human, nor animal, nor machine, but all of them pregnant their bodies resist classic dichotomies, do not fit into the categories of Western thought. They represent the unknown other that challenges the apparent stability of human identity.
In our songs, which turn this production into a hybrid of concert and theater performance, we respond to Sylvia Plath’s "Three Women - A Poem for Three Voices" and thus enter into a dialogue with the characters who speak in that text.
In terms of methodology, the focus is on studio work, in which the attempt at joint and at the same time autonomous authorship is pursued. The performances take place in the Hyperlokal Zurich.
